December 31, 2022

The Band and Choir traveled to Windsor on Saturday and toured Windsor Castle. Students were very grateful for their tour coats today (thank you DGN Friends of Fine Arts!) as we encountered the heaviest "mist" yet while waiting our turn for admittance.

Photography by tourists is not allowed inside Windsor Castle. Images are courtesy of Royal Collection Trust, and represent a small percentage of the beautiful and historic Windsor Castle rooms we visited today.

Following our visit to Windsor Castle, students had time for lunch in Windsor, before departing for music rehearsals. Choir members spent the late-afternoon and early evening rehearsing at the Westminster Cathedral Choir School, and Marching Band members rehearsed at the hotel in preparation for tomorrow's big parade!

The day concluded with a group-dinner at the hotel, and a New Year's Eve party that included a DJ, dancing, and pizza.

The London New Year's Day Parade running order has been announced, and you can find the complete list HERE. The DGN Trojan Marching Band will be the 28th unit (of 70) in the parade.

The parade will be broadcast to tens of millions of homes across the globe on January 1, 2023. Many PBS affiliates in the United States will carry the parade, but not in all markets. The most direct access point to watch the BBC's Live Stream will be through the official LNYDP Website [LNYDP.com]. A viewing link will be made available on the LNYDP page on the morning of January 1.

The parade begins at 12:00 noon in London (6:00 AM CST). It will likely be 7:15 - 8:00 AM (CST) before DGN reaches the TV Zone, but this is simply an estimate.

We will continue to post photography to the Photo Gallery; please use THIS PAGE throughout the week. [https://tinyurl.com/DGNLondon23PhotoVideo]
